The Midland Development Corp. completed two big steps in its mission to improve education Monday after it voted to approve a pair of measures affecting the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

At its monthly meeting, MDC board members unanimously greenlighted contributing $5 million toward the construction of UTPB’s engineering building, which will be built near the Center for Energy and Economic Development (CEED) in the city of Midland, and for the development of a business incubator and makerspace at the CEED.
