MDC Participation on the Garfield Extension

The Midland Development Corporation approved an Economic Development Agreement with the City of Midland, funding $1,800,000 for infrastructure improvements to complete the extension of Garfield Street from its current ending point at Carter Avenue to Interstate 20.  The total cost of the project is estimated to be $5,525,000.  The Texas Department of Transportation has agreed to fund approximately $1,600,000.

When asked what first attracted the MDC to this project, President Mike Hatley explained, "This project will have multiple benefits, but the most important reason the MDC participated in this project was to create an accessible route to property currently zoned for industrial use."
