One of Texas' oldest oil fields, in decline for decades, has become one of the hottest places in the country to drill for crude, as energy companies create clusters of wells with layers of horizontal branches.
November 21, 2013, Prague, Czech Republic and Mojave, California, USA – The Czech Space Office (CSO) announced today the signing of an exclusive agreement with XCOR Aerospace. The agreement authorizes the CSO to become an Authorized Payload Integrator of XCOR’s Lynx®, a rocket-powered suborbital spacecraft currently being built at XCOR’s headquarters in Mojave, California.
The Lynx spacecraft is designed to reach up to 100 km in altitude along a suborbital trajectory, will takeoff like a business jet, and return to its runway much like the Shuttle. Lynx will also provide up to three minutes of micro-gravity and exposure to the harsh environment at the edge of space

Midland’s labor market remained stable, according to August figures released Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission.
The commission said unemployment in the Midland metropolitan statistical area (MSA) fell to 3.2 percent in August from 3.5 percent in July and is below the 3.5 percent reported last August.
