Through various alliances, MDC has been able to enhance Midland’s position in key organizations at the local, state and national level. MDC’s role in these collaborations range from a participating member, to acting as the primary facilitator in bridging partnerships the community of Midland continues to build for the success of future generations.
City of Midland: The
MDC works extensively with the employees of the City through the City Manager’s office, Planning & Zoning, Engineering, Public Works, Code Enforcement, Airport and Traffic Engineering.
County of Midland: The
MDC works closely with the County Commissioners to ensure the success of industries located within the County.
Chamber of Commerce: The
MDC supports the Chamber by active participation in events and activities.
Live Downtown Midland: The
MDC partners with Live Downtown Midland in the promotion and development of the Central Business District.
Midland-Odessa Transportation Alliance “MOTRAN”: Their mission is the development of the La Entrada al Pacifico trade corridor which provides economic stimulus and new jobs for the Permian Basin. The trade corridor increases the movement of goods and people from the Pacific port of Topolobampo northeast to Odessa-Midland, Texas. From there, vehicles connect with several major routes that will take them to points in the northern, eastern and western United States.
Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor: Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor is a planned four-lane divided highway that facilitates the efficient transportation of goods and people from Mexico through West Texas to Denver, CO.
Team Texas: Team Texas is a committee of the TEDC comprised of representatives from 55 communities across the state, who work cooperatively to market Texas and their communities as a business location.
Texas One:
MDC is an active participant with Texas One, developed by Governor Perry to promote Texas through the TexasOne Trade Missions.
