Midland has a diverse yet well defined focus on industry.

We take care of our existing companies while seeking additional industry that will complement and strengthen our area. Our history is closely tied to the Permian Basin and to the oil and gas industry. However, the local economy has expanded greatly to include both large and family-owned businesses in diverse sectors such as the aerospace and business services sectors. The Midland Development Corporation continues to support all our local businesses, while helping them to take advantage of growth opportunities.

What are Midland’s target industries?

Energy is Midland’s primary industry. The MDC is looking to diversify Midland’s industries into the aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing sectors.
