The Midland Development Corporation along with the City of Midland Celebrate the Completion of Briarwood Avenue Road Improvements

May 9, 2017 (Midland, Texas) – The Midland Development Corporation (MDC) is pleased to have been a contributor to the improvements and widening of Briarwood Avenue between Holiday Hill Road and Avalon Drive.
The initial contract of $8.62 million was awarded to the sole bidder of the project, Jones Brothers Dirt and Paving, and the professional services related to design work of Phases II and III was contracted with Parkhill, Smith and Cooper. The project was funded by the City of Midland and the MDC.
The project includes three phases; Phase I involved the widening of Briarwood Avenue including the necessary excavation, drainage, pavement, curb and gutter, and everything in between. The MDC contributed $4,679,503 for Phase I and $730,000 for Phases II and III.
“We look forward to seeing the development that takes place along Briarwood Avenue as well as within the extended area,” said Brent Hilliard, Chairman of the Midland Development Corporation.
