Dual Credit and CTE programs allow high school students to take college-level courses in conjunction with local colleges. In addition to satisfying high school requirements, students also earn college credits. These programs are gaining in popularity. Students get a taste of more challenging material while also earning college credit, which not only saves them money on college costs but also can reduce the time it takes to complete a college degree. A recent study** concluded that students who participate in dual enrollment programs are more likely to graduate high school, go to college, and ultimately earn degrees more quickly than their peers.
