Midland MSA leads the nation in per-capita income

Data recently shared from the Bureau of Economic Analysis showed that the Midland MSA is leading in several areas.

Per-capita personal income in Midland, TX jumped from $123,682 in 2021 to $143,516 in 2022. The national average in the US is $65,470. Coming second and third to our city are San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, California at $141,516, and Naples-Marco Island at $131,160. In 2020, Midland also was first in the nation for per-capita income and ranked third in 2021.

Midland, TX was also the only MSA to grow more than 10% in 2022 with a growth of 16.2%. Following the Midland MSA, Harrisonburg, Virginia grew by 7.1%. Other Texas cities showed growth in 2022 with Tyler, TX at 5.9%, Odessa, TX at 5.2%, Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land at 4.4%, Dallas-Arlington-Fort Worth at 3.7% and Lubbock, TX at 0.5%.
