Midland, TX was ranked as Heartland Forward's most dynamic metro in their 2025 release of dynamic metropolitans. Midland comes in first against 380 other metros in the United States and all were assessed by employment, average annual pay, real GDP growth, per capita income, and measures of entrepreneurial activity. The report also emphasized the importance of particular economic development strategies such as workforce development, entrepreneurship and innovation, affordable housing and infrastructure, and sustainable resource use. 

Top 3 Metros:

  • Midland, TX
  • Wildwood-The Villages, FL
  • Bozeman, MT

Other Texas communities in the top 25 included Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos MSA, Sherman-Denison MSA, and College Station-Bryan. 

The report highlights Midland's high per capita personal income of $151,401 and strong GDP growth over the last year.
