Texas Is NO. 1 In Semiconductors, Wind Power In 2021

A 2021 report by Business Facilities Magazine ranks Texas as No. 1 in the nation for semiconductors and installed wind power capacity and in the Top 10 in its global rankings for Austin’s start-up ecosystem.
Business Facilities published these rankings in its State, Metro and Global Rankings Report, the magazine’s annual across-the-board evaluations of economic development leaders, July 27. Texas garnered 45 spots in the Top 10 Rankings, including five first place rankings.
Texas is No. 1
In addition to Texas being No. 1 in semiconductors and wind power capacity, the state’s other first places included:
- Fastest-growing metros by population — Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown
- Cyber cities — San Antonio
